Let’s explore some new businesses in Cambridge!

Cambridge is buzzing with exciting new additions to its retail and hospitality scene! Follow along with our Marketing Executive, Hannah, as she takes you through the day she spent exploring some of the city’s newest openings.

First stop:

I headed over to Bloom Mill Flowers on Trumpington Street, a delightful little shop just opposite the Fitzwilliam Museum. This beautiful boutique is brimming with stunning bouquets, lush plants, and thoughtful gifts. Venture towards the back and you’ll find an elegant selection of hand creams, fragrances, and home décor items. Whether you’re treating yourself or searching for the perfect present, Bloom Mill is a must-visit.

Second stop:

Feeling a little peckish, I then made my way to King Street to check out The Cherry Pit, a quirky new American-style diner serving sweet pies and vinyl records. With flavours like apple, cherry, pecan, and pumpkin, choosing just one is a challenge. I went for a slice of the pecan pie paired with a coffee, and it didn’t disappoint! I had a chat with the lovely owner who shared her enthusiasm for running a business in Cambridge which is always wonderful to hear. Dine in or grab a takeaway, either way, I recommend a visit to The Cherry Pit.

Third stop:

I then took a stroll over to Grand Arcade for a pamper sesh at a luxury new nail bar called Townhouse on the first floor. The modern, stylish space welcomes guests with complimentary hand cream samples and a comfy lounge area. At the nail bar, sleek digital screens make browsing colours and nail art options a breeze. To top it all off, there’s even a fridge stocked with refreshing drinks like iced coffee and prosecco! For a pampering experience that feels extra special, book yourself in for a manicure at Townhouse, you won’t regret it.

I also explored a few exciting new spots on Green Street. I was thrilled to hear local favourite, Stir, had launched a brand-new sandwich shop called Marvin’s. The menu features tempting options such as breakfast sandwiches, veggie creations, the ever-popular fish finger sandwich, and freshly baked pastries. Their drink selection includes matcha lattes and a tiramisu iced latte amongst other classics, the perfect midday treat!

Another fantastic new addition to Green Street is a stylish eyewear boutique called IOLLA, offering fashionable glasses and sunglasses at affordable prices. Their friendly staff provide a personalised style consultation to help you find the perfect pair. Once you’ve chosen your frames, simply upload your prescription via email and they’ll take care of the rest. As a glasses wearer myself and in need of a new pair I couldn’t resist doing a bit of shopping myself and I am obsessed with them!

Last but certainly not least, as a lover of all things homeware and quirky, 40 Green Street is quickly becoming one of my new favourites, a charming gift and homeware shop bursting with character. From candles and jewellery to vibrant cushions, funky plates, and incense, this boutique shop is a treasure trove of unique finds.

Cambridge is brimming with amazing, unique independent businesses, you will feel spoilt for choice so head out into the city today and discover something new or fall in love with your favourites all over again!

Pop along to The Cherry Pit for a slice of their delicious pecan pie and pick up a beautiful bouquet in Bloom Mill Flowers.
