Out of the Ordinary Arts Competition – Call for Entries!
In collaboration with the Out of the Ordinary Festival delivered by the Cambridge City Council Events Team, the Cambridge Arts Festival 2025 is thrilled to announce the Out of the Ordinary Arts Competition! We’re inviting all creatives to share their unique and innovative perspectives on Cambridge. Whether you’re a painter, photographer, or love experimenting with mixed media, we want to see your vision of the city from fresh, unexpected angles.

Show us your vision of Cambridge through your chosen medium—paintings, drawings, collages, mixed media, photography, and more!
Submission Categories:
- Under 18s
- Adults
Showcase Event:
Selected works will be featured in a special exhibition at Cambridge Guildhall on Saturday, February 15th during the festival weekend.
Prizes for Each Category:
Winners will be selected by an independent judging panel and announced during the Cambridge Arts Festival 2025.

1. Eligibility
- Open to individuals residing in or connected to Cambridgeshire
- Two categories: Under 18s and Adults.
2. Submission Guidelines
- Only original works created by the participant may be submitted.
- We will accepted mediums including but not limited to painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, and photography.
- Submission must not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or third-party rights.
- Physical artwork to be delivered or posted to the specified address by January 27, 2025.
3. Exhibition and Rights
- Selected artworks will be exhibited at Cambridge Guildhall on February 15, 2025.
- Entrants grant Cambridge Arts Festival and Out of the Ordinary Festival a non-exclusive license to use images of their submitted work for promotional purposes, including social media, website, and press coverage.
- Original artworks remain the property of the artist unless otherwise agreed upon.
4. Judging and Prizes
- An independent panel will select winners based on creativity, originality, and alignment with the theme.
- Judges’ decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
- Prizes will be awarded per category and announced during the festival.
5. Liability
- Organisers are not responsible for any damage to or loss of artworks during transit, storage, or exhibition. Entrants should consider ensuring their works if necessary.
6. Withdrawal and Disqualification
- Organisers reserve the right to disqualify entries that do not meet submission guidelines or violate any rules.
7. Data Protection
- Personal details provided will be used solely for competition administration purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
8. General Terms
- By entering the competition, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
- Organisers reserve the right to amend the terms, extend deadlines, or cancel the competition if necessary.
